This decision is kind of curious. What Intel is doing, in fact, is “binning” its chips, just like it does its processors. With PAT enabled, the P memory controller will perform some internal memory handling tasks faster, yielding a one-clock improvement in the time for a CPU request to perform memory access and another one-clock improvement in the DRAM chip select process. D in the industry, and hopefully grow them into successful and user-friendly products. No Interruptions Day Shortbread.

Intel emphasizes that P chipsets are tested rigorously, at full operating speed, for their ability to run with PAT inte, so Canterwood motherboards ought to be plenty stable under normal operating conditions.
Intel’s 875P chipset and P4 3GHz processor
In all likelihood, the P silicon will come from the same wafers and essentially be the same chips as Intel’s upcoming Springdale chipset, but Springdale will be a cheaper, higher-volume product.
Dell returns to the stock market after six years. Core-logic chipsets may not seem too sexy to the wider world, but we hardware geeks know better.
With new Jack-Sensing feature users won’t have to worry about how to install speakers correctly. D concept describes the fulfilling of customers Satisfaction, providing Excellence products, Gigabyte unique technology Evolution and product Difference in this competitive market.
With that said, there’s quite a bit to mention so we’ll spare you the small talk and get right down to it. Log in Don’t have an account? The best of those chips will be sold as P MCH chips. Here’s my best guess about what’s happening.
Intel 875P (Canterwood) Chipset – The New Flagship
The P will cost a little more, and will be aimed at workstation users and enthusiasts. Introducing the P chipset Now that it’s hitting the market, Canterwood gets a “real” name: It’s nice of Krogoth to fill in for Chuckula over the holidays.
It’s as if Intel were gearing up to fight a processor with an on-chip memory controller or something, innit? The P is the first of a new wave of chipsets coming from Intel, most of which are currently nestled under the code name Springdale. D concept by Mr. Steam names the best-selling games of This feature will be available soon 3 Xpress Recovery, a revolutionary software feature that backup or restore system files thru BIOS function. The rumored specs on this thing sounded amazing, and what’s more, Intel was planning to offer products targeted for PC enthusiasts bent on wringing the best possible performance out of their PCs.
Intel P (Canterwood) Chipset – The New Flagship
Taken together, these new features add up to a much more potent Pentium 4 platform, especially because of the extra bandwidth afforded by the new front-side bus, dual memory channels, and the AGP bus. Dual Channel DDR memory architecture which bandwidth reaches up to 6. The Gigabyte P4 Titan P series motherboards indisputably deliver to the uppermost platform unprecedented computing power and rock-solid stability.
With PAT enabled, the P memory controller will perform some internal memory handling tasks faster, yielding a one-clock improvement in the time for a CPU request to perform memory access and another one-clock improvement in the DRAM chip select process.

The P brings a whole range of enhancements to the Pentium 4 platform, so I’d better bust out the bullet points to be sure I cover them all. As you know, AMD’s Athlon 64 didn’t quite make it out the door.
And although the launch of the mainstream Springdale chipset is still a few weeks away, we’re finally able to tell you all there is to know about the successor to the aging E chipset; what was once known as Canterwood, is now publicly available as the Intel P chipset. Inttel next milestone that’s set with the P is that Intel has finally released a chipset to push RDRAM out of their product lineup; not that there’s anything wrong with RDRAM these days, but the fact of the matter is that DDR is far more plentiful and thus much more attractive to end-users and resellers.
On a more serio Naturally, we rounded up every competitor we could and put Canterwood through its paces. Our P test platform has a large passive heat sink on the MCH chip.
